Federal job sites run on documentation, and the people who can run it are hard to find. My Trade Talent focuses on the skilled trades, and we also support clients on construction-side roles like quality control and site safety.
A Dual-Hat Federal Role
A general contracting firm working on complex federal and public construction projects in the Chicago area needed one person to serve as both Quality Control Manager (CQCM) and Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO). The role called for five to ten years of quality-control and site-safety experience on federal or public work, current CQM-C certification, OSHA 30-Hour and EM 385 40-Hour training, and the ability to run daily field inspections, submittal review and safety documentation on government job sites.
From First Contact to Hire in 18 Days
This isn't a hands-on trade role, but it is the kind of construction-side seat our clients need filled. The candidate entered our pipeline on September 28, 2026, and the placement was finalized on October 16, 2026, eighteen days later and inside our four-week benchmark.
Deep Federal Compliance Experience
The new hire brings 25-plus years of construction safety and EHS leadership across commercial, industrial, heavy civil, federal and mission-critical construction, including SSHO and Quality Control Manager work on Department of the Navy and USACE projects under EM 385-1-1. They hold a Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification and are a 16-year U.S. Navy veteran. The client now has a safety and quality lead who can walk onto a federal job site and run the documentation without a ramp-up period.
