Masonry & Concrete licensing in Kentucky.

Kentucky does not license general, masonry or concrete contractors at state level. The Department of Housing, Buildings and Construction enforces statewide building standards and licenses plumbers, electricians, boiler contractors, sprinkler and fire alarm contractors and building inspectors, none of which reach masonry work. In Louisville Metro, Construction Review issues contractor licenses in categories such as Building Type A and B, HVAC, mechanical refrigeration, fire detection and suppression, moving, signs and wrecking, and there is no masonry, concrete or general contractor category. Check the Louisville Metro Building Type license where it applies, and otherwise rely on local requirements, insurance and bonding. The Louisville metro crosses a state line, so check the rules in the neighboring state too for crews that work on both sides.

Licensing authority: No state contractor license; regulated locally, for example Louisville Metro Construction Review. The state licenses only plumbers, electricians, boiler, sprinkler and fire alarm contractors and building inspectors. Confirm current rules with the agency.
