LED & Solar licensing in Kansas.

Kansas has no state license for electricians, electrical contractors or solar contractors. The state's official business startup guidance says cities and counties set licensing requirements for construction and contracting businesses, and that specific licenses may be required for electrical, plumbing and HVAC trades at that local level. In the Wichita metro the licensing body is the Metropolitan Area Building and Construction Department, which issues journeyman and master electrical trade certificates covering both the City of Wichita and Sedgwick County and which does not accept state testing in place of its own approved exams. Because Kansas credentials are local rather than statewide, confirm the specific city or county trade certificate for each job site.
