Insulation licensing in Indiana.

Indiana has no state general or insulation contractor license, and the Professional Licensing Agency regulates plumbing, home inspectors and manufactured home installers but no building contractor category. Contractor licensing is left to cities and counties, so the local building department for the jurisdiction determines what registration a commercial insulation firm needs. The credential that does exist statewide is asbestos licensing from IDEM, which licenses individuals by discipline including worker, project supervisor, inspector, management planner, project designer and contractor, each requiring an Indiana-approved training course and examination under 326 IAC 18. Verify IDEM licenses for the firm and for named workers and supervisors using IDEM's list of licensed asbestos professionals.

Licensing authority: No state contractor license. Indiana Department of Environmental Management, Office of Air Quality, licenses asbestos disciplines under 326 IAC 18. Confirm current rules with the agency.
