Commercial Pest Control licensing in Missouri.

Missouri has certified commercial applicators, noncommercial certified applicators and pesticide technicians. Structural categories are 7A General Structural Pest Control, 7B Termite Pest Control for wood-destroying organisms, and 7C Fumigation Pest Control. A certified commercial applicator passes the core exam plus at least one category exam and must show proof of financial responsibility, while a pesticide technician completes at least eight hours of classroom training and sixteen hours of on-the-job practical training per category, must complete at least one category within 45 days of employment, and must work under the direct supervision of a certified commercial applicator employed by the same business at the same location. Licenses expire annually and technicians retrain every three years. Governed by RSMo Chapter 281 and 2 CSR 70-25. The same state rules apply in St. Louis, so candidates licensed there can work in Kansas City without re-qualifying. The Kansas City metro crosses a state line, so check the rules in the neighboring state too for crews that work on both sides.

Licensing authority: Missouri Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Pesticide Control. Confirm current rules with the agency.
